Yep, done it more times than I can count.
Safety protocols of the plant is the main consideration. There are companies which are very strict. For driving a nail for instance, only hammers should be used and not just anything hard. The safety inspector sees to it that things like this are
strictly observe.
big companies have their own rules as well as local bylaws. your best bet is to get an engineer on site to sign off on your cart or trailer your using as safe, and check with the safety coordinator,as to the site rules.
I have been driving forklift for over 15 years,
It would depend actually what type of forklift propane or diesel, if outside or inside I have seen people pull carts behind there lifts really all depends on situation
