@ThePigfloyd actually that fork lift he’s using if it goes idol forward it will stop itself after like a few feet not even…its to prevent such things from happening

@brucelee6790 No, Afghanistan or may be UAE or may be India but for sure not Bangladesh ;-D

  • brucelee6790:

@pppcool lol “or so” are you from bangladesh?

@ThePigfloyd Thanks for your comment…you are correct but particularly with this forklift let me tell you this….we had hand break on and we tried with forward gear on+gas+pull by another truck(tied with rope)…the rope we used, was really heavy duty..eventually rope broke but forklift didn’t move an inch!! This is no hypothetical situation it was actually tried. so the forklift I am showing has really good hand break. However your idea is correct I am not disputing it!!

  • ThePigfloyd:

Just one thing wrong with this folks … DON’T EVER, NEVER turn the key on when your standing OUTSIDE of the forklift. Don’t assume the parking brake is a cure all. If it had failed he would have chased it and possibly got crushed to death.

hi i just got a offered to take a training for the forklift now i feel relaxed going to it thank alot this help alot cause here in california they in need of forklift driver

  • waynevietnam:

This operator doesn’t know how to use the foot pedals properly. He drives like the vehicle has a standard transmission. I think 98% of forklift drivers don’t get it.

I know that this is an instructional video, but you would’nt use a propane powered forklift for moving normal size/weight skids around a warehouse, you use a palletjack. Propane is expensive. Forklifts are used for things that a palletjack can’t do like putting skids up on a high shelf and things like that, also you would use one for unloading trucks. But you would’nt use it for everyday moving of normal skids around a warehouse. Thats a waste of propane!

@MrGordonification It depends on the state laws. But as I know you just need regular class D license as this is not transport vehicle, means you are not using it on the road, to carry passengers or to transport the material on the road. But I guess what you do need for sure is the OSHA certification for safety. Still check with local DMV and refer to OSHA guidelines. If I get more info on this I’ll post it!

  • MrGordonification:

@ACEWAD1 dont u need license for it???

  • Smartguy561:

Also, a couple of other things. I noticed that the forklift either doesn’t have a backup horn, or it isn’t working. It is a safety violation to operate without one, ecpecially if you prefer to drive it in reverse with a load. Secondly, if your forklift is propane powered like the one I use, then if you let it warm up before you begin, the cold weather won’t be an issue. Just a suggestion.

  • Smartguy561:

You should only drive a forklift in reverse if driving forward is obstructed and you can see what is behind you and it is unsafe to drive forward. Also, you should begin with the tips of the forklift flat on the ground and RAISE the forks a couple of inches from theground, and , never drive with the forks touching the ground and tilted like this guy is doing. Also remeber that the back end swings around because it steers from the back. As far as everything else, the video was good.
